Go to Bed Early

I know this sounds crazy. You’re probably thinking that I play all night. No, I don’t stay up all night; I go to bed. I control the time when I go to sleep at night and maybe that is what I should say here. Go to sleep, not go to bed. Go to sleep early.

After about 9 or 10 o’clock, if you’re not producing something you’re probably getting in trouble or taking in a bunch of garbage off the TV. If you can control when you go to sleep at night you are in better control when you wake up in the morning. People that are having difficulties in life typically stay up too late and they watch garbage on TV or they end up in trouble doing stuff they don’t feel good about the next day. For years people have asked me, “Dude, how much sleep do you get? Do you get like 3 or 4 hours? You seem so productive.” No, I try to get 7 or 8 hours every night. Why? Because me being rested is important; it’s critical. I can think fresh. I know people who say, “Oh, I only get 3 hours of sleep.” Good for you dude, you are going to burn up. You’re going to get “crispy” and start thinking weird or get irritable. I tried the 3 or 4-hour program. I was irritable, jumpy, and short with people. At 9 o’clock try to get in bed and go to sleep.

Look, control when you go to sleep at night. You will stay out of trouble, you won’t be taking in garbage late at night and you can control when you wake up – early, so you can get a head start on everyone else.
